I hope to gain a better understanding for future situations. I'm sure there will be many times while teaching when it will help to know what may be going on inside the student's mind to cause that certain behavior or situation.

There is no threshold point for when a teacher becomes the best they can be; they must always continue to improve. I want to continue improving upon my own teaching skills so that I may keep on giving any class that I teach my absolute best.

As an elementary education major, I am striving to gain as much knowledge and experience about children, child psychology, classroom behavior, curriculum, etc. My hopes for this class are that:
1. I learn about the way certain children think and learn,
2. How to deal with certain situations that arise in the classroom,
and
3. to gain extra knowledge that will be useful in my job...which i actually consider more of a fulfillment.

As a teacher, I want to empower my students with a love for learning. I won't be able to do this unless I can understand what they are experiencing emotionally, socially, and mentally. I also know that there will be many students that do not fall within the standard deviation that defines someone as "psychologically normal." I want to be able to inspire these students as well. In this class, I hope to learn anything that will help me fulfill these goals.

I hope to learn how to handle situations that I may be faced with in the classroom. I want to learn how to relate to a child with emotional or behavioral problems as well as how to create a proper curriculum. I just want to be able to create an environment in the classroom that students will love.

Each student is a completely unique individual and through this class I hope to develop the knowledge to treat them as such. While at the same time empowering every student to feel like they have the ability to fulfill their potiental.
I really like the way caroline put it: You cannot even begin to help a child if you don't first try to understand what they child is experiencing. socially, emotionally and physically.

I hope to learn teaching techniques that will help me assist children of all different levels and needs. I hope to learn more about the capacity children have for learning at the elementary level and just have a greater understanding of how they function at that age. I am planning to double major in Special Ed. so I'm also excited to learn all that I can in that area. Most of all, I want to learn how to be a good teacher and help my students get excited about learning.

What I want to get out of this course is to become a teacher with great knowledge of the subject at hand which I want to major in history in elementary school. I want to gain better understanding of teaching, understanding of history, succeeding at situations that arise in the classroom, and get to know the student by helping them now so they can succeed with greatness in life.

During this semester, my goal is to gain more certitude in my decision to become a teacher. I want to be reaffirmed that my desire to become a teacher is not just a fad and education truly is the field of study that I want to be in. I am confident that this class will aid my decision greatly.

I want a better understanding of a student's mental activity and the way they perceive things in the classroom from the side of a teacher. It is real important for me to begin to see things from the front of the classroom, on the other side of things. Developing leadership techniques is just as important from me and I feel like I will learn that from the other students and the teacher of this Psychoed class.
